Introduction

Heena is a Chartered Psychologist registered with, and an Associate fellow of, the British Psychological Society (BPS). She is also a Counselling and Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Heena is a Psychologist on the BPS’ Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors, a Registered EuroPsych Psychologist and an EMDR Practitioner (accredited and registred with EMDR UK and Europe). Heena was recognised for the work as part of the Walden Model and was awarded the annual Counselling Psychology Prize from the BPS for ‘Servicer user care and involvement 2019’. She has also trained and is part of the British Red Cross Psychosocial Reserve who is called upon to respond to mass critical incidents.

Heena works with adults, children and young people and has over fifteen years’ experience, including working in various organisations, such as the NHS, social care, independent practice, charitable and corporate sectors.

Depending on each client’s needs identified during an initial assessment, treatment/therapy can be short, medium or long-term. Follow up sessions are also arranged. Heena works with her clients to achieve their short term goals by identifying and overcoming obstacles whilst improving and maintaining their well being. Heena endeavours to provide her clients with the tools they need to continue with what they have achieved in the sessions to ensure long-term maintenance and change. She strongly believes that early intervention is key to avoid escalation of symptoms and concerns which could otherwise compromise one's well being and functioning in their day-to-day living and quality of life. Heena works regularly with crisis and risk management and advises safeguarding teams in various contexts.

It is important to work with the whole person and, as a psychologist, Heena promotes a biopsychosocial approach to working with her clients. Evidence-based practice, practice-based evidence and reflective practice is integrel to Heena’s way of working.  She ultimately tailors her clinical practice to the needs and context of her clients, offering, where appropriate, a stand alone or integrated approach which may include (but is not limited to):
